An exciting opportunity for 13-16 year olds in Thurrock to explore Film & Media.
Join the Arts Outburst Thurrock Film&Screen Saturday Club and get involved in filmmaking!
This is a great opportunity to learn about filmmaking and get to know other young people with similar interests in your local area. The Club provides the perfect space for young people to discover the exciting opportunities across this rapidly growing sector of the UK economy.
Club members have the opportunity to tell their diverse and unique stories, and to gain practical and technical insight into filming, editing, sound design, and lighting. At the Club, members embrace the art of storytelling and its ability to entertain and inform our society and culture. As well as developing key transferable attributes such as problem-solving, persistence, and collaboration, Film&Screen Saturday Club members explore the future landscape of media outlets such as game design, radio and filmmaking.
Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!
STARTING 9TH NOVEMBER, 2024
What to expect on a Saturday:
The sessions in particular will be covering all things Film Making; prep and pre-production, followed by the hands on Filming experience that then leads into post production and editing… and it is totally okay if none of those processes mean a great deal right now or that you may not have any experience doing any of that before! The idea is that we will create a friendly, safe space for you to try new things with the support of wonderful facilitators with bundles of experience!
The programme will start with a fun, creative project to start you on your journey and to get the creative juices a’flowing and once you are settled and learning lots of new things, we will begin working on our end goal: to produce a short film for you to share with other clubs and your loved ones at the prestigious Somerset House, London. Complete with certificates and celebrations!
EXCITING TRIP OPPORTUNITY!
Once signing up to the programme with us, you will be invited to an exclusive National Saturday Trip on the 23rd of November to head into London to meet other National Saturday club participants, a lunch AND a Cultural Visit to the Roundhouse in London to attend the Opening Exhibition of all participating clubs.
So, calling all aspiring Film Makers…
